The 63rd Victorian Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow, held at the Melbourne Showgrounds from Wednesday 22 February to Monday 27 February, attracted more than 50,000 visitors.
The ‘Go Make Some Memories’ Passport to Freedom competition was a huge hit, with Pauline Davies from Warrnambool taking home first prize; a Coromal Element E552s Caravan valued at $52,990, as well as one year of insurance donated by th
e Principal Show sponsor, CIL Caravan and RV Insurance.
At first when the Caravan Industry Association Victoria’s show team phoned Pauline last week to give her the exciting news that she had won a caravan, she was excited however in a state of disbelief. It was hours later when she phoned a Caravan Industry Association Victoria staff member to clarify that the previous call was not a hoax and she had in fact won the Coromal Element E552s Caravan with one year’s CIL insurance that she became truly ecstatic. Pauline had visited the show in search of a new caravan and couldn’t believe how fortunate she was to win one.

The Victorian Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow was held over the course of six days with temperatures ranging from 20 to 33 degrees Celsius.
“It was an exceptionally busy period, but it was great that the weather was brilliant for the preparation before and during the Supershow,” said Rob Lucas, CEO of the Caravan Industry Association Victoria.
Visitors enjoyed informative seminars from a range of caravanning experts at the Outback Seminar Dome, cooking demonstrations on the Walkabout Stage, and exciting attractions like the Isuzu Ute Iron Summit, the Berkley Supertank, whip-cracking fun with Nathan Griggs and a walk down memory lane at the vintage caravan display.
The Supershow endeavours to inspire outdoor enthusiasts of all ages to ‘Go Make Some Memories’: explore the great Australian outdoors, relax on holidays with family, camp with friends, take scenic bike rides and fish on the banks of a river.
“This was the show’s third year at Melbourne Showgrounds, which previously had not been moved for 14 years, and with each 12 month period the Caravan Industry Association Victoria’s show team works hard to introduce new concepts and exciting products to the outdoor travelling market,” Rob Lucas said.
With more than 300 exhibits and 1,200 RVs on display, as well as more than 80 volunteers on hand, the Victorian Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow would like to acknowledge the:
